2022 #36 (12.09.-16.09.)

In the week after us, there was a greater interest of market participants in the new crop of corn and soybean. In terms of price, wheat was on the rise, while the price of corn crop 2021 was on the decline. Total turnover was 4.790 tons with a total financial value of 1.776.720,56 €.

On the corn market, most inquiries were for the new crop of this cereal. Corn with a higher percentage of moisture was mostly offered. The old crop of corn was traded in a price range of 285,50 to 289,76 €/t, but there was noticeably less interest in this commodity, which led to a negative price trend. The weighted price for this week was 287,80 €/t, which is a drop of 1,38%.

A weaker supply was present on the wheat market. Compared to the previous period, when wheat with 11,5-12% protein was the focus of buyers’ interest, this week saw a greater interest in wheat with a higher percentage of protein. Depending on the quality parameters, wheat was traded in the price range from 308,51 to 322,15 €/t. Compared with the previous week, the price recorded an increase of 2,20%. The weighted price was 313,54 €/t.

Soybean old crop was not traded this week. Supply at a higher price level than demand did not result in a contract conclusion. On the other hand, since the beginning of the week, a greater interest in crop 2022 has been noticeable. The new crop of soybean was traded at the same price level as the previous week. The contracts were concluded at a single price of 686,06 €/t, with quality calculation. This price is also the weighted price.

Sunflower crop 2022, at parity CPT buyer, was traded at 571,94 €/t

Urea, Russian, package 25/1 was traded at 767,71 €/t.

There is still less activity of participants in the commodities market. Compared to the previous week, higher volume and financial turnover was recorded. The first contract for soybean 2022 was concluded. In total, 1.977 tons of goods were traded, whose financial value reached 849.086,88 €.

The corn market recorded more activity compared to the previous week. Corn crop 2021 was traded in the price range from 288,11 to 292,37 €/t. The weighted price for this week is 291,86 €/t, which is an increase of 0,62%. The demand for corn 2021 was low, in anticipation of the supplies of the new crop. Corn 2022 is missing in trading due to the price spread of buyers and sellers, as well as weaker supply.

Unlike the previous week, when wheat was the most traded, this week only 25 tons were traded. Supply at higher price levels, and on the other hand, demand at lower prices did not result in the trading of larger quantities. The contract for wheat was concluded at 306,86 €/t, which is also the weighted price for this week. If we compare with the previous week, it is a minimal growth of 0,02%.

The negative price trend continued on the soybean market. Soybean with quality calculation was traded from 694,70 to 695,55 €/t, while soybean without quality calculation was traded at 698,96 €/t. At the beginning of the week there was a noticeable lower supply, but at the end of the week there was less interest from buyers in buying this oilseed and an increased supply. The weighted price was 695,12 €/t, which is a decrease of 0,12%. The first contract for soybean crop 2022 was concluded at the end of the week at a price of 686,17 €/t.

Fertilizer NPK 15:15:15, Russian, 25/1, CPT buyer, was traded at a price of 792,57 €/t.

A quiet week on the commodities market led to reduced trading volume. In terms of quantity, wheat was traded the most, which recorded a slight increase in price. Soybean, on the other hand, has a downward price trend. Total turnover was 1.770 tons (-42,8%), while the financial value reached 830.628,66 €.

For the second week in a row, the corn market is calmer compared to the period when this cereal had primacy in commodity trading. The increased supply was noticed from the beginning of the week, while the interest of buyers was significantly lower. An additional calming of the market occurs at the end of the week, due to a weaker supply. Corn was traded from 287,17 to 292,28 €/t. Compared to the previous period; the price had a minimal growth of only 0.02%. The weighted price was 289,98 €/t.

The wheat price marked a positive price trend. The first day in the week brought more significant demand than supply, but the day after the quotation has missed. During the week, there was a low dynamic on the market. Wheat with 11,5-12% protein was the most sought-after commodity. Contracts for this cereal were realized from 305,06 to 308,47 €/t. The weighted price was 306,68 €/t. Compared to the previous week; this is an increase of 0,35%.

On the soybean market continued higher supply than demand. At the beginning of the week, soybean was traded at 703,01 €/t, but different price levels between buyers and sellers have led to lower activity on the market. At the end of the week, contracts were concluded at 690,23 €/t, which highlights a negative price trend. The weighted price was 695,77 €/t, which represents a price fall of -0,94%.

Feed barley was traded at 285,46 €/t.

There was a great interest in buying fertilizers and a bigger supply. Contract for NPK 16:16:16, at FCA parity was realized at 795,00 €/t. At parity CPT, this fertilizer was traded from 800,00 to 805,00 €/t.

2022 #33 (22.08.-26.08.)

The first contract for corn 2022 and a soybean price increase marked last week on the commodity exchange market. Total turnover was 3.095 tons (-59,6%), while a financial value reached 1.240.018,71 € (-54,0%).

While in the previous week corn was the most sought-after commodity, the domestic market was calmer this week. Contract with deferred payment was realized at 289,70 €/t.

Corn crop 2022 also was traded at the price of 289,70 €/t, with impurities of 2%.

Compared to the last week, wheat marked a downward price trend. During this week, lower activity was noticed. There was a lack of bigger quantities. Buyers were domestic processors and traders. Contracts were concluded from 304,19 to 309,30 €/t. The weighted price was 305,64 €/t. Compared to the previous period, the price is lower by 0,95%.

Sunflower harvest is ongoing. There is a significant interest in buying this oilseed in the price range from 555,00 to 560,00 €/t, while the supply of small quantities was at the price of 580,00 €/t CPT.

Augmented interest in soybean has led to a positive price trend at the beginning of the week. During the week, there was lower interest and prices had fallen. With quality calculation, the soybean was traded from 698,69 to 707,21 €/t. The weighted price was 702,27 €/t. Compared to the previous week, the price is higher by 1,03%.

MAP 12:52, Russian, package 600/1 was traded at 1.200,00 €/t.

 

2022 #32 (15.08.-19.08.)

At Produktna berza, the last week was marked by a stable price level of cereals and increased soybean price. Total turnover was 7.655 tons, while financial value was 2.694.014,42 €.

Contracts with longer lager during September were most traded on the corn market. Increased interest in buying was noticed at the end of the week. Contracts were concluded from 289,70 to 292,25 €/t. The weighted price was 289,87 €/t, which represents a minimal change of +0,19%.

As in the previous week, augmented demand for wheat with 11,5-12% protein has continued. Demand was bigger than supply. Contracts for wheat were realized from 306,74 to 311,00 €/t. The weighted price for this week was 304,95 €/t, which is a slight downward trend of -0,64%. Demand did not adequately respond to the wheat supply with a higher quality parameter.

On the soybean market, lower supply was noticed. Buyers were on a lower price level, compared to supply, so the market was calmer. At the beginning of the week, soybean was traded at 694,42 €/t, while at the end of the week contract was concluded at 696,98 €/t. The weighted price reached 695,10 €/t, which is an increase of 1,13%.

Feed barley, depending on quality, was traded from 283,73 to 285,44 €/t.

Russian UREA was traded at 765,00 €/t.

Demand for a sunflower new crop was in the price range from 535,0 to 540,00 €/t, but the supply was missing.

2022 #31 (08.08.-12.08.)

The corn price drop, wheat price stable level and soybean price rise marked the last week. Total turnover was 6.947 tons (+46,5%), while financial value was 2.434.290,65 € (+45,3%).

On the international market, a great caution was noted about drought consequences in Europe and USDA on winter crops. Traders are waiting for the USDA report to see the newest forecast. It is expected that drought had a negative impact on corn and soybean.

At the corn market, in the middle of the week, noticed bigger activity, while at the end of the week the market was calmer and the price dropped. This week’s buyers were processors and traders, while exporters were on lower price levels and seeking a longer lager. Contracts were concluded from 285,52 to 290,63 €/t. The weighted price was 289,44 €/t, which is 2,4% lower than in the previous week.

Wheat price had no bigger change. At the beginning of the week, supply was increased, but as how the week was passing, supply was lower. Augmented demand was for wheat with 12% protein, while wheat with a higher quality did not find a buyer. Contracts were realized from 306,82 to 308,53 €/t. The weighted price was 306,99 €/t, which is 0,2% lower than the previous week.

For the second week in a row, soybean had a positive price trend. In comparison with previous data, soybean prices increased by 2%. Augmented demand has led to this price trend, and lower supply on the other hand. Contracts were concluded from 686,09 to 690,35 €/t, with quality calculation and a clear upward tendency. The weighted price was 687,54 €/t.

Sunflower meal 33% protein was traded at 268,47 €/t.

Depending on quality parameters, feed barley was traded from 283,81 to 285,52 €/t. Compared to the previous week, there was a drop in price.

The beginning of the harvest of the new crop of sunflowers is characterized by a lot of uncertainty regarding the amount of the yield and its purchase price. The current market price ranges from 480,00 to 500,00 €/t.

2022 #30 (01.08.-05.08.)

In the week behind us, trading on the Commodity Exchange remained at last week’s level. Cereal prices did not show major changes compared to last week, while the prices of oilseeds recorded an increase. In total, 4,743 tons of goods were traded (-0.4%), while the financial value reached € 1,675,702.55 (+0.50%).

On the corn market, there is a higher supply compared to demand. From the middle of the week, the market completely calms down and there is no demand. Sales contracts were concluded in the price range from 295.73 €/t to 298.29 €/t without VAT. The weighted price was 296.58 €/t without VAT. Although the price has stabilized, statistically corn is 2.2% more expensive compared to the previous week.

Wheat offers at the very beginning of the week were weak and at higher price levels than demand. As the week progressed, the quantities offered with prompt delivery increased. The structure of customers was mainly made up of traders. Sales contracts were concluded in the price range from 306.81 to 308.51 €/t without VAT. Compared to the data from the previous week, the price of wheat rose by 0.25%

Compared to the previous week, the price of soybeans recorded an increase due to the uncertainty of the quality and yield of the new crop and the absence of the supply of last year’s crop. Realization of contracts on FCA ranged from 664.75 to 686.91 €/t without VAT, with the calculation of quality. The weight was 674.21 €/t, which is an increase of 3.0%.

Feed barley (with hl 53-60) was traded at a price of 283.80 to 289.76 €/t without VAT. The weekly weight is 288.91 €/t.

In addition to the above-mentioned goods, triticale for animal feed was also traded at a price of 276.98 €/t without VAT.

2022 #29 (25.07.-29.07.)

A more active wheat market and a positive price trend of all primary agricultural products marked the stock exchange trading during this week. A total of 4,934 tons of goods were traded, with a financial value of € 1,666,710.26.

 

As the week progressed, the demand for corn increased. Since the middle of the week, higher demand than supply is noticeable. Although corn was traded the most in terms of quantity, the volume of trading in this cereal is smaller compared to the previous two weeks. The price of corn fluctuated during the week, and this grain was traded in the price range of 285.39 to 292.21 €/t without VAT. The weighted price is 290.16 €/t without VAT, which is an increase of 3.59%.

 

On the wheat market, higher demand than supply continued. Greater activity of buyers, both domestic processors and exporters, brought dynamism to this market, which had been missing since the beginning of the month. Depending on the quality parameters, wheat was traded in the price range from 298.17 to 315.21 €/t without VAT. Compared to the previous week, the price of this cereal recorded a growth of 2.17%, and the price weight is 306.78 €/t without VAT.

 

Compared to the previous week, when a sudden price increase was noticeable on the soybean market, this week a stable price level is recorded. The beginning of the week brought insufficient interest on the demand side, but at the end of the week there is more activity from buyers. Soybeans were traded in the price range from 651.72 to 660.24 €/t without VAT. The weighted price is 654.19 €/t without VAT, which is an increase of 0.37%.

 

Feed barley was traded, depending on the quality parameters, from 276.87 to 285.39 €/t without VAT. Compared to the previous week, there was an increase of 0.78%.

 

Sunflower meal, 33% protein, was sold in the price range from 264.09 to 268,35 €/t without VAT.

2022 #28 (18.07.-22.07.)

Corn and soybean prices increase marked the last week. From the middle of the week, on the domestic market was noticed more significant activity. Total turnover was 8.379 tons, while financial value was 2.795.842,41 €.

This week, larger interest in buying corn was continued. As in the previous period, this cereal was the most traded commodity with a total quantity of 6.536 tons. Processors and exporters were the buyers. At parity FCA, contracts were concluded from 272,51 to 285,29 €/t. At parity CPT, this cereal was traded at 286,99 €/t. The weighted price was 280,01 €/t, and compared to the previous week, this cereal marked a price increase of 3,59%.

The news about the abolition of export quotas influenced the increase in activity on the wheat market. The participants are still focused on the purchase of wheat by the Republic Directorate for Commodity Reserves, and so far, 108.000 tons have been offered. On the commodity exchange market, as the week progressed, demand increased. Contracts were concluded in the price range from 293,80 to 315,09 €/t, depending on the quality parameters. Statistically, wheat is recording a drop in price. The weighted price for this week was 300,19 €/t, which is a decrease of 2,08%.

The biggest price increase was recorded for soybeans. Since the beginning of the week, supply has been at a much higher level. The highest offered price was 681,28 €/t, with quality calculation. Although the supply has increased, interest in buying on the other hand was quite low. Contracts were concluded in the price range from 638,70 to 664,25 €/t, with the quality calculation, and the buyers were domestic processors. The weighted price was 651,47 €/t, which is an increase of 7,75%.

Compared to the previous week, when barley price marked a bearish trend, this week’s positive price trend was noticed. Feed barley, SRPS quality, was traded from 272,51 to 276,77 €/t, while barley with a specific mass of 50kg was traded at 266,55 €/t. The weighted price was 274,64 €/t, which is an increase of 4,26%.

Rapeseed with deferred payment was traded at 630,00 €/t.

Fertilizer NPK 10:26:26, package 600/1 was traded at 925,00 €/t.

2022 #27 (11.-15.07.)

At Produktna berza, this week, an increase in the prices of all primary agricultural products was recorded. As during the previous weeks, corn was the most traded commodity. A total of 5.950 tons of commodities were traded with a financial value of 1.818.929,96 €.

Increased activity in the corn market has been present since the beginning of the week. As the days went by, the demand grew. At the end of the week, realizations of larger quantities of this cereal were recorded. At the beginning of the week, contracts were concluded from 262,39 €/t, while due to growth, the price reached the level of 272,61 €/t. The weighted price was 270,48 €/t, which is an increase of 2,96%.

During this week on the wheat market, the focus was again on the purchase of the Republic Directorate for Commodity Reserves. About 93.000 tons of this cereal have been offered so far. Although the harvest is nearing the end, there was no realization of a larger volume, due to the lack of supply. The demand was constantly at a lower price level compared to the supply. Wheat with 14% protein was traded at 306,69 €/t, which represents the weighted price. Compared to the previous week, the price increased by 4,35%. At the CPT parity, the contract was concluded at 297,32 €/t, for wheat with 11% protein.

Soybean started the week very calmly, and there was no expressed interest either in buying or selling this oilseed. From the middle of the week, there was more activity and the price has grown. Soybean was traded at 604,86 €/t, with quality calculation, which represents an increase of 4,03%, compared to the previous week. At the end of the week, there was lower interest in buying and soybean was absent from trading.

Feed barley was traded in the price range from 262,39 to 264,09 €/t. Compared to the previous week, the price of this crop recorded a drop of 4,82%.

Rapeseed was absent from trading in the week behind us. The increased supply of this oilseed was in the price range from 630,00 to 640,00 €/t, however, there were no inquiries on the demand side.
